People and products in our store. About half are Newton (50% to 60%) and about 45 % are across Iowa and USA made items. The other 5 to 10% are other places. Our people and products pages change often as we get new vendors in quite often.
Mary A. Gorball is our newest vendor. She lives in Port Isabel, Tx. Mary has written a series of books with this one being the first one. Mary grew up in the midwest during the 40's and 50's and retired after raising her children and working at Jasper County Savings Bank for 30 yrs. Her children gave her a "Grand Parents" book, and when her memories didn't fit she wrote them down in small booklets. After much encouragement she decided to publish under the name Marianne. She spends most of her time in South Texas looking forward to visits from family and friends. I can honestly say it is worth reading. I not only giggled but outright laughed in places as it took me back to when I was young.. (PS Mary if you see this I am looking forward to the rest of the series!). So please stop in and buy a copy.

Shi Anne's Pet Treats is located in Newton, Iowa and is owned by Ronda Butler. They are gourmet, made fresh, are low in fat, and come in several flavors. Rhonda will do large orders, is very reasonable pricing, and has special orders available for birthday, Christmas, etc. Ronda also hand embroiders dish towels that make great gifts! Handmade & Heartfelt by Jean Sommerlot from Colo, and Rushco by Geraldee Boggess from Des Moines are our two newest vendors. Jean makes soups, dips, cutting boards, visor tissue packs for your cars, and misc food items. Dee makes bath and body items such as shower whip, soap, room scents, some food mixes, and fabric items.
Lynn Cabbage from Prairie City, Iowa makes these wooden puzzles from several types of woods. Some are bottles (coca cola, beer, and wine), and fish puzzles with some being smaller made into key chains. He also makes a postage stamp holder puzzle that has a story behind the wood and rock that sits on the top. Stop in and check his items out!
Clear Creek Orchard jams and butters are from Collins, Iowa. They are retired from the service and started their own business. They have 32 different flavors and is kettle processed in small batches just like home made. They also have some that are seedless.
The above items are from Cherith Valley Gardens in Fort Worth, Texas. It is a family owned business. They have Corn Relish, Mustards and Ketchups, Jams and Jellies, and Bread Spreads, Salsas, and many other items...they also have gift bags with assorted items in them.
These are a few of the Maytag collectables that are in our store. Several trucks and an oil can from the early days at the factory. Also two Campbell Soup delivery trucks.
Gary West is from Jefferson, Iowa and is one of the newest vendors in the store. He makes wooden toys, birdhouses, bagel cutters, coasters and several other wood items.
Jolena Olson is from Indianola, Iowa. All the stone pendants you see are all found, cut, shaped, polished, wrapped and hand crafted by Jolena. She also paints ornaments and bells and small items and pins for Christmas.
Sandra Harrington is another of our vendors. She moved here from Charles City, Iowa. She embroiders cards for all occations. The top picture shows the detail of her cards. Her prices are modest for the work she puts into each card. She also embroiders scrapbook pages and she is putting together a book to show her work in that area as well. Gail Gundlah is a vendor and is located here in Newton, Ia. She has lived in Iowa for almost 10 yrs after moving from western NY. She moved here to be close to her daughter and family. Nature's Treasures custom jewelry by Julia Poulson is located in Colfax, Iowa. All earrings have sterling silver posts, backs, and wires. Work is guaranteed...if it breaks she will fix it. She also does custom pieces. Most pieces are one of a kind unless requested by someone for another piece of the same. She will repair any broken jewelry. Elaine's Doll Creations is in Sully, Iowa. She does special orders for the 18" American Girl, 15" Bitty Baby & Bitty twins, or any 10" to 22" baby dolls. The pictures above are scroll saw work done by a retired gentleman named Cornie Neef located here in Newton, Iowa. He also a beautiful cathedral clock that sits in one of our windows; It stands approximately 4 ft tall. He has several other items in the store, each one just as beautiful, as each one different.
Tie Dye by Phyllis Brady from Searsboro, Iowa. Phyllis is an ex-maytager and works at a new job and does this on the side for extra income. If you like Tie Dye you will love what Phyllis does! Center Point Farm soy candles are hand poured by Karen Kline and located in Brooklyn, Iowa. Ebert Honey is located in Lynnville, Iowa. It is pure Iowa honey. He also makes beeswax candles.
Leather good, wood carvings of eagles, and indian head clocks are crafted by an American Indian named George Fox who lives in Des Moines, Iowa.
Versy Enterprises LLC is located in Newton, Iowa. He has a vast inventory of different items located in the store. There are tools, food products, deer collections, watches and sunglasses and ipods from his trip to China, and many custom birdhouses and feeders made by him for Versy Enterprises and seeds for the birds to eat. |
